Bruxelles, Belgium - 09 January 2020: CABICHEM Steering Committee meeting

COE65 steering committee meeting 2020On 9th January 2020 a 9-people group of Projects Partners’ representatives – with the addition of two, who attended remotely – met in Bruxelles the Project Officer at the European Commission DG DEVCO headquarters. The delegation updated DG DEVCO regarding the state-of-the-art of the project and next steps that will be done.

Moreover, it was a good chance for the team to discuss related issues and coordinate each other. In particular, Project Partners exposed the detail of the Work Packages they are in charge of, as well as of the main results achieved and their points of strength and weakness.

There has been an update about the financial situation, that doesn’t present particular issues, and some adjustments have been agreed in the logistic procedure for the organisation of trainings, workshops and other project-related events.

Moreover, Project Partners transmitted to DG DEVCO their actions and feedbacks about previous trainings, fact-finding missions and workshops, and updated the European Institutions about the results that have been achieved and about how they want to share further efforts towards the organisation of the next events to be held. Specifically, the next project-related occurrence is a WP4 related training that will be held in Pakistan next February.

The Steering Committee is an official meeting that is generally held to update the financing institutions about the progress of the EU CBRN Project 65 on “Strengthening chemical and biological waste management in Central Asia countries for improved security and safety risk mitigation”, which is carried out in five partner countries of Central Asia.
